Breaking Barriers 9-1
Client: Gate Guard

Items Needed: Drops of Amnio
After picking up the mission from the Gate Guard, head to Chateau d'Oraguille to get a cutscene. You'll now require to do the first part which is soloable to get 2 key items from a ??? marked in couple of locations.

1. Valley of Sorrows: zone into the Valley through the northern entrance and not the beach one and go to I-8 to find a ??? there. Examine it to get key item, Statue of Titan.

2. Xarcabard: at H-7 within a bunch of trees there should be a ??? there. Examine it to get key item, Statue of Garuda.

Now the last one is in Battalia Island at J-11 but this one will produce two NMs to fight so you'll need to gather an alliance for it. You can only reach this island by going through Eldeime Necropolis.

Head out to Batallia Downs and go to I-10 entrance to Eldieme Necropolis. Once inside, put sneak on. Now head to J-8 with your alliance. Then go South to I-9. Have the alliance go to H-9 where they should be standing in front of Shiva's Gate, while one member stay at I-9, . If Shiva gate is in fact open, walk inside and turn immediately south. This is Titan's Gate, and it should be closed. If Shiva's Gate is not open, the person at I-9 must then open it.
The person still standing at I-9 must proceed north into I-8. Put invisible on and then proceed to H-8. There is a Bomb type mob here, who detects by sight and magic, so do not cast anything around him, and make sure you are invisible before going to H-8. Pass by the bomb into another small room, and you will see a switch. Take invisible off, and then hit the switch. Now Shiva's Gate will open, if it was previously closed.
Have alliance at H-9 walk through and face South toward Titan's Gate, then hit the switch again, so that Shiva's Gate closes, and Titan's Gate opens. If Shiva's Gate is already open, you only have to hit the switch once to make Titan's Gate open.
Now the person near the switch needs to put invisible back on, and head down to H-9, near Shiva's Gate. Meanwhile the alliance will proceed to G-9. In front of them will be a room with 9 Grave Pits in it, along with a few mobs. Now to let one person in the alliance through, proceed north to G-8 in a small room. There is another switch you must hit to open and close the doors again, letting person who was at the first switch to make his/her back back to join the alliance.
Once everyone is together again, go back to G-9 with the 9 Grave Pits, go directly to the grave pit in the middle, and stand in the middle of it. You will then fall to a cave-like area, and you will be on a different map at L-12. Head East into another map and you will now appear at G-7. Finally proceed to J-9 and exit out into Batallia Downs again.
This time you will appear at J-11 on the island. Ahtu NM may be here for The Setting Sun quest. Kill it if it's there to clear the area. There are two ??? here. One is for the Dragoon AF quest and the other is for the mission you are doing. The ??? that you want is to the right of the entrance to the island. You'll be fighting two NM birds, Suparna (BRD type), and Suparna Fledgling (WHM type). When you pop them they will link and attack whomever is the person that will pop them.

The strategy to use is this. At this point you should have at least 2 parties of 66+ or at least one party of 75. Have everyone stand at the other end of the island away from any possible aggro from the NM. Now the person who will pop the NM will need to pop and run and zone into Eldeime Necropolis. Person with flee is a good choice. Once he/she pop the NMs, run or flee into Eldeime Necropolis. The birds should follow that person but once he/she zoned, the birds should be making their way back to the original ??? point. Now at the point the link should be broken as they are making their way back to the ???. Have one person within the alliance pull one of the birds back to the alliance standing on the other side. Now just gang up and kill that bird. The person that zone into Eldeime Necropolis should come back and help fight after zoning. Kill one bird then kill the other bird. Although you can just kill one and let the other one depop. Once the birds are dead, examine the ??? again to get the third key item.

Now just head back to Chateau d'Oraguille to finish the mission. Talk to Halver, King or Prince if you need to in order to finish the mission.
 


 
The Heir to the Light 9-2

Head to Chateau d'Oraguille to get a cutscene after you pick up the mission at the gate guard. Now that everything has been prepare, form a good balance party of level 70+. You must have a black mage in this party. If no black mage than summoner but you do need someone that can do massive damage in AOE range. The fight will be broken up into two parts. Only those who are on 9-2 and from San D'Oria can take part in this BCNM fight. Those that have achieved Rank 10 San D'Oria can help too but anyone not on this mission or is from another nation cannot help at all. This is an all San D'Oria party.

Head over to Fei-Yin and to the BCNM area, Qu'Bia Arena. By now you should know where these areas are. If not then you have no business being Rank 10 at all. Let's go over each of part of the BCNM fight. This is a no level cap BCNM so you should be fine. The higher level you are, the better it is for you to achieve success.

The first part you will be facing 15 Orcs. 14 regular Orcs and 1 Orchishwarmachine to be exact. The 15 Orcs should be consider Too Weak to those that are level 70+. However since there are 15 of them, Too Weak can even kill you if you're not careful. The one thing to note is that the Orchiswarmachine can heal the other Orcs. The main tank like a Paladin should 2 hour and invincible and aggro everything to one area. Reason for 2 hour invincible is because those 15 orcs can beat down a Paladin pretty quick. While this is happening, someone with a back up voke should voke one of the regular orc and pull it far away from the other orcs. This back up voker should not melee or kill the orc but just keep voking it and keeping it busy away from the other orcs. The orc is Too Weak to kill the back up voker at this point so the back up voker should be fine. Now when the main tank aggros every orcs and pull them all together in one spot, he/she should go and tank the Orchishmachine straight up. Any extra damage dealers or mages should go all out on the Orchishmachine and take it down as soon as possible. The black mage should use elemental seal and sleepga 2 the 14 orcs that are together. The other orcs should be sleeping except the Orchishwarmachine. Now you need to kill the Orchishmachine as quickly as possible. The reason for that is the Orchiswarmachine can cast curage and wake up the other orcs that are sleeping around you and you don't want that to happen. So take down the Orchishwarmachine as quickly as possible. Once it's down, just maintain sleepga 2 on the rest of the Two Weak orcs and pick them off one at a time. Once all 14 orcs are dead except for the one orc that was pulled away by the back up voker, everyone should rest to full HP and MP. Once that's done, you can kill the last orc and prepare for the second part of the fight.

For the second part of the fight, you will face three NM orcs. They are Rojgnoj's Left Hand, Rojgnoj's Right Hand, and Warlord Rojgnoj. The orcs aren't that tough but the fight can be a bit long. Now the thing here is that Prince Trion will join you in this battle. His attacks are weak and he won't help too much. But if the Prince dies so end the mission. So your objectives are to keep the Prince alive and your party alive. To make things easier, follow the Prince and attack whichever NM that Prince is attack. This way you are concentrating everything on one NM. The Black Mage and Red Mage should each maintain sleep 2 on each of the other two NMs that the party and the Prince isn't fighting. Once one NM is dead, repeat the process and follow the Prince to the next NM. If you do this correctly, you shouldn't have any problems beating the three Orcs.

After the battle, head to Chateau d'Oraguille for a cutscene, then head to the stone door in King Ranperre's Tomb for another cutscene, then finally back to Chateau d'Oraguille to complete the mission and receive Rank 10, 100,000 gil, and a San d'Orian Flag. Once you have completed the mission, head back to Northern San d'Oria to receive one last cutscene.
